About

A joint society digital-empowerment community. Energy in Data is exclusively designed for participants embarking on their digital journey. Augmented by cutting-edge multidisciplinary forums and workshops, together we explore the latest trends with topics as diverse as AI, machine learning, data analytics across exploration, asset development and production. Re-imagine training, advance the digital frontier in geoscience and engineering, expand the reservoir of knowledge in digital education, leading to a resilient and sustainable ecosystem.

The digital transformation is dramatically changing how the oil and gas industry operates. While technology has been the crux of the industry for decades, fast innovation in the areas of big data, artificial intelligence, machine learning, IoT, and more is required for companies to thrive in this new environment.

How can we benchmark capabilities of digital technologies? How can we demonstrate capabilities to improve upon existing visualization and interpretation methodologies or uncover hidden information in old data? How can service companies and operators collaborate to bring new technology and innovation forward in solving real field problems?

Participants can benefit from a three-track onsite experience including and not limited to:

  • Track 1 Geoscience – Digital revolution in CCUS, gas and alternate energy storage
  • Track 2 Data Science – Advances in AI, visualization, and project implementation
  • Track 3 Engineering – Problems and solutions in data management, integration, security, and standardization

Participants will take part in panel discussions, invited presentations, short courses, augmented with immersive hands-on data usage, exhibition, and networking. Energy in Data (EiD) is uniquely designed to expand the knowledge and competency of professionals to manage the digital revolution in the energy industry and to engage the domain communities. The event is one of many EiD value deliverables in 2022.

This is a must-attend conference for those seeking the answers to these questions and others regarding the digital transformation.

Who should attend?

Large, small and medium-sized operators, the service sector including innovative start-ups, the data services world, academia and the research sector. Content will be tailored toward those who are the change agents in an organization, wherever they are located – the boardroom, asset managers, geoscientists, engineers, data scientists, or ML/analytics/AI developers and practitioners.

Who is behind Energy in Data?

The Energy in Data Conference is a collaborative partnership of the three primary disciplinary societies in oil and gas - the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG).
